Clumping litters should be scooped at least twice a day to remove any lumps. Non-clumping litter should be changed every day or so as necessary.

Compound disinfectants, such as Phenol and Chloroxylenol, are toxic to cats so should not be used. Your vet may recommend a particular antibacterial cleaning product for medical reasons.
